
Heat the cooking oil in a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
Add the sliced or diced sausage to the pan and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
Push the sausage to one side of the pan and add the chopped onion. Cook the onion, stirring occasionally, until softened and translucent, about 4-5 minutes.
If using, add the minced garlic and/or dried herbs to the pan with the onion and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Add the cooked rice to the pan with the sausage and onion mixture. Stir everything together to combine.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is heated through.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir well.
